USB Portable Hard Drives

Backing up your computer's files should be a day to day activity. Recommended to be done, in the morning, before you start using your computer or at night, right before you sleep. The unfortunate part is that not many people do this.

At the moment I currently have two computers. A laptop, and a desktop. All plugged to one 250GB Seagate portable hard drive. Over the years, I have incurred one major computer crash, and small defects at random points in time. Without backing up my information the day before, I would have no way of accessing it until the problem in the computer was fixed.

USB portable hard drives are great devices in general, and more importantly, problem solvers. You have the ability to take as much information as you need, wherever you need, whenever. Even if something was to go wrong, and my computers internal hard drive was to fail today, anything and everything saved to my portable drive from the past, will still be there.

In addition to what can go wrong, the very simple and yet very effective ability to copy files from your computer to your portable device within minutes is always a plus. You can quickly copy your family/friends/personal pictures over, almost instantly. Transfer music, videos, and load of data. You can even move software applications.

In addition, if you have a new computer, and want to transfer everything from your old computer to the new one. The USB portable hard drive is an ideal solution. With most of these devices having the storage capacity of 80GB and more, there is more than enough space available for you to make a quick and efficient transfer without a problem.

I personally deal with a lot of website design and marketing projects for clients, and can't afford to loose any data, regardless of how little of importance it may be to me, it belongs to someone else. I have to ensure that anything and everything I work on is retained. My solution to this is to simply use usb portable hard drives. All I need is one. I have been using it for years, and it is still not full. You can always delete any data on your drive that you do not have any use for anymore.

The problem is, people don't prepare before a disaster. It is only after something occurs that they decide to change their ways. I am just like that, as is the average American. It wasn't until my computer crashed that I decided to purchase a usb portable hard drive. I'm glad that I did, and would highly recommend you do so as well.

The reason I stress the usability of a usb portable hard drive to avoid data loss for your computers is because computer hard drives where not made to last 10 years. The average hard drive will fail in 4 years. But some could fail in one year. Just depends what you do to it. A hard drive is just that. "Hard". When it fails, it fails hard, and it is extremely difficult to even get data out of it. Your best bet is to backup to an external hard drive. USB Portable Hard Drives is the answer :-p
